OUR VISION
A generation of young leaders from Toronto Community Housing who love Jesus and serve their community.
We are Missionaries: We follow Christ and engage in His mission of making disciples.
We are Relational: We value people over property, money, structure and systems.
We are Servants: We serve with humility and treat others with dignity.
We are Mentors: We provide leaders with opportunities to learn, serve and grow.
We are a Team: We put aside our individual desires to work toward a collective purpose.
We are Dependent: We recognize our need for God's grace and live by His provision.
We believe...
That the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is inspired of God and is of supreme and final authority in faith and life.
In the Holy Spirit as the vital element in the revelation and operation of Christian faith.
In one God eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
That Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, and that He is true God and true man and is the only sufficient Mediator between God and mankind.
That people are created in the image of God and that they sinned and thereby incurred spiritual death.
In the vicarious death of the Lord Jesus Christ for our sins, in the resurrection of His body, His ascension into Heaven, and His personal and future return to the earth; and that salvation is received only through personal faith in Him.
That a New Testament Church is a body of baptized believers, associated for worship, service, the spread of the Gospel and the establishing of the Kingdom in all the world.
God is the One who meets all our needs (Phil 4:19)
So we seek to present the needs of the ministry openly and honestly to God's people and then trust the Holy Spirit to touch the hearts of those whom He wants to participate in meeting those needs. When donors respond we recognize our accountability both to God and to our donors. Spending of funds is confined to board approved programs and projects. Each restricted contribution toward a board approved program or project will be used as designated, with the understanding that when the need for such a program or project has been met, or cannot be completed for any reason determined by the board, the remaining restricted contributions designated for such program or project will be used where needed most.
Because UrbanPromise Toronto is certified by the Canadian Centre of Christian Charities, there are a few things you can expect from us:
1. Accountability: We hold ourselves accountable to Christ, to governing authorities, to CCCC, to donors, and to the public.
2. Transparency: We agree to provide a copy of our most recent audited financial statements to anyone who requests them.
3. Excellence: We follow a commitment to excellence in resource management, donor relationships, program evaluation, and governance.
4. Respect: We recognize that our donors are people. We commit to respecting the interests and dignity of the donor in every interaction.
5. Responsiveness: We will welcome your questions, respect your complaints, and provide prompt answers.
