A child’s story can help transform a generation

You can help make a 20-year journey of faith, leadership, and restoration possible.

Growing into a leader takes time and presence.

Children growing up in Toronto Community Housing want what every child wants: to feel safe, loved, connected, and hopeful about their future.

But limited opportunities, unstable environments, and a lack of consistent mentors create obstacles at every stage of growing up.

No young person should have to face those obstacles alone.

UrbanPromise Toronto walks with children from age five into adulthood.

We don’t just show up once. Our Christian Urban Missionaries build lasting relationships with children, their families, and their neighbourhoods.

Since 1998, we have remained present through childhood, adolescence, and the transition into adulthood, helping young people discover their God-given potential and grow into leaders who love Jesus and serve others.

Because lasting transformation happens through faithful relationships over time.

One 20-year journey.
Three stages of transformation.

Reach a Child

Ages 5 to 14

Through after-school programs, camps, and experiential learning, children ages 5-14 find safe spaces and caring adults who know them, support them, and introduce them to the love of Jesus.

Raise a Leader

Ages 15 to 19

Youth ages 15-19 become paid StreetLeaders. They mentor younger children as they develop their own faith, character, workplace skills, and confidence through training, discipleship, and real responsibility.

Restore Community

Ages 20 to 25

Young adults ages 20-25 continue to receive mentorship as they pursue education, build careers, serve in their churches, and become leaders in their neighbourhoods.

This is our Leadership Pathway: reaching children, raising leaders, and restoring community from one generation to the next.

You can walk this journey with them.

Become a Promise Partner.

Give monthly and provide the consistent support that makes a 20-year commitment possible, from a child’s first day in an AfterSchool program to their first steps as a community leader.

Volunteer.

Become a steady, trusted presence in the life of a child or young leader. Your time, encouragement, and example can help shape the person they become.

You can help a young leader shape a generation.

Without consistent mentors, safe spaces, and long-term support, children miss opportunities to grow, struggle to recognise their God-given potential, and enter adulthood without the relationships and experience they need to lead.

But through your partnership with UrbanPromise Toronto, a child can be reached with the love of Jesus, raised into a confident leader, and equipped to serve the next generation.

Your generosity helps turn one child’s 20-year journey into lasting restoration for a family, a neighbourhood, and a community.
